Our Dog Training Services in Beaver & the Greater Pittsburgh Area
Personalized Dog Training, Backed by Positive Reinforcement
Whether you’re raising a new puppy or working through behavior challenges, Happy Feet Dog Training guides you step-by-step using modern, positive reinforcement (R+).
Every dog is different—and so is every family. That’s why we take the time to understand your goals, your dog’s behavior, and your lifestyle before jumping into training. Our positive reinforcement approach is all about building trust, communication, and confidence—for both ends of the leash.
All new clients begin with a 90-minute Initial Consultation, which gives us a chance to get to know you, review your concerns, and kickstart your training with a personalized plan and hands-on practice.
Transparency & Fair Pricing
We believe training should be honest, fair, and pressure-free — for both dogs and their people. That’s why we don’t offer “free consultations,” which are often used as sales tactics by trainers who avoid sharing their rates until they’re already in your home.
At Happy Feet Dog Training, our pricing is fully transparent and based on the time we spend working together, not how “difficult” your dog might be. More complex behaviors may take more lessons, but each session is equally valuable and fairly priced.
Your first session is a working consultation — a full 90-minute lesson where we assess your dog, discuss your goals, and start real training right away.
This same time-based approach applies to households with multiple dogs. We don’t charge extra for working with more than one dog in a single session — though time will naturally be divided among them. You’re paying for our time, not per-dog fees or behavior “difficulty.”

FAQ
How much does dog training cost?
Our pricing is fully transparent and based on the time we spend working together, not on the “difficulty” of your dog. Puppy training starts at $170 for a 90-minute initial consultation and $115 for 60-minute follow-up sessions, with a 6-session package available for $630. Adult dog training is $185 for the initial consultation, $130 for follow-ups, and $720 for the 6-session package. We don’t charge extra for households with multiple dogs, and we never use free consultations as a sales tactic.
Do you come to my home?
Yes, most of our private training sessions take place in your home, where your dog is most comfortable and where many everyday behaviors actually happen. We also meet in public locations when that better fits what we’re working on, such as local parks, pet-friendly stores, neighborhood walks, or wherever your real-life challenges show up. We’ll choose the best setting together based on your goals.
What areas do you serve?
Happy Feet Dog Training serves Beaver County and the Greater Pittsburgh Area. Our primary service area extends up to one hour from Beaver, PA, including Sewickley, Moon Township, Cranberry Township, Robinson, Coraopolis, Economy, Ambridge, Wexford, Mt. Lebanon, and surrounding communities. We also welcome clients beyond our primary service area with a travel fee. If you’re unsure whether we can reach you, send us a quick text or email and we’ll let you know.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions depends on your goals, your dog, and how much practice you’re able to put in between lessons. Some families feel confident after just a few sessions with a clear plan in hand, while more complex behavior goals may take longer. The biggest factor in your success isn’t the number of lessons you book, it’s the time you spend practicing together between them. We’ll build a plan that fits your goals and your real life, and your training continues only as long as it’s useful to you.
Do you work with reactive or aggressive dogs?
We work with reactive dogs regularly, and many dogs labeled “aggressive” are actually reactive once their behavior is properly assessed. The two often look similar but require different support. Before booking, we recommend reaching out so we can talk through what you’re seeing, even just by phone, to help determine the right next step. For dogs with significant aggression or complex behavior concerns that go beyond the scope of training, we’ll refer you to a board-certified veterinary behaviorist who specializes in those cases.
Do you offer group classes?
Not at this time. We focus on private, one-on-one training because it allows us to tailor every session to your specific dog and goals. We occasionally host informal group sessions for current private training clients, but we don’t run regular group classes because we don’t have a permanent training facility. If you know of a location in the Beaver or Pittsburgh area that would be a good fit for group classes, we’d love to hear from you.
What if I've already worked with another trainer using different methods?
That’s absolutely fine. Many of our clients come to us after trying other methods, and we’re happy to meet you wherever you are in your training journey. Our only real requirement is that you’re open to the positive reinforcement approach and willing to adjust some habits along the way. We’ll never judge your past choices, we’ll just help you move forward with clarity and kindness.
How do I get started?
Getting started is simple. Use our short intake form to tell us about your dog, or reach out by phone, text, or email. From there, we’ll schedule your 90-minute initial consultation, which also serves as your first working training session. You’ll leave with a personalized training plan and homework so you can start making progress right away.
